Great book, easy read. The Willis brothers share their experiences on surfing the outer reefs on some of the largest days in modern history. Very enjoyable. If you surf or follow it, get the book, then watch the video on YT-Biggest Wednesday: Condition Black to see some of the footage and interviews. Some of the guys had been waiting 20 years to see conditions like this. Only a handful of the big wave surfers would go out. The Willis brothers were two of them.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I’m no big wave surfer, but reading about these epic surfing stories like Ace Cools leap of faith, the Willis Brothers discovering Devils Garden, and Code Black was awesome to read. And then to learn more about other great surfers, the ladies of big wave surfing, insane wipeouts, the radical rescues, their board designs, ocean safety, Hawaiian words, etc., was really a treat and a pleasure. They should make a movie about this book. I recommend adding it to your mandatory reading list. Enjoy!
This book was easy to read. Every chapter was filled with excitement. I loved the Hawaiian words that were used as well as the spiritual references. The reader will be inspired by the courageous surfing performed by the Willis brothers using only their boards on the massive Hawaiian waves. Enjoy the read.
This book is great. Very genuine, honest, and a humble tale of the Willis brothers big wave surfing life experiences.
Good storyline very interesting it takes you into the water recommended for surfers and non-surfers. Great read.
